On February 3, a presentation of the potential and opportunities of the German IT market for companies participating in the First Ukrainian IT Export Alliance organized with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine took place.
The event was attended by 20 member companies of the Alliance and the organizers — the IT Ukraine Association, CIVITTA Ukraine, and international consultant Christine Grumbach.
We share why Germany is interesting for Ukrainian IT:
- for the last 5 years, Germany has been closely cooperating with Ukraine in the field of IT, and the import of information technology services is almost 2 times higher than the export: 6.48 against 2.99 billion dollars;
- the exports of information technology services of Ukraine to Germany account for 18% of the total volume of exported services. And this indicates a high potential for growth;
- the German market as a whole shows a moderate growth of 1.7% during 2010-1019, which is facilitated by activity in sectors such as telecom, IT services, and IT hardware.
We remind you that the First Ukrainian IT Export Alliance started its work in 2020. The project is implemented under the Union brand, currently, its participants are 20 Ukrainian IT companies that plan to enter new export markets this year. The first phase of the project, the study of three potential markets for export, has now been completed. According to its results, in 2021 trade missions to Norway, Finland and Germany are planned.
The initiative is implemented by the IT Ukraine Association with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine. Initiative partner — State Institution "Export Promotion Office of Ukraine".
